Badger and Otter Classes

We would like to welcome you and your child into Year 5. Mrs Elward will continue to teach in Year five alongside a new member of staff and we will be supported by Mrs Daniels and Mrs Homer. This week we have been getting to know the children and finding out about them. They have also been learning about us and all the things we like to do when we are not at school.

As a team we are really excited about next year, particularly our first topic which is The Maya Civilisation. We start this with some fun activities in our Forest School to help bring the learning to life.

In Year 5 we will be developing your child’s independence in their learning as well as with looking after themselves. We will expect the children to take more of a role in being able to look after themselves and their own things as they approach the top of the school. To help them with this, please ensure that all school uniform, water bottles and bags/lunchboxes are named so that if they get misplaced, they can be returned to their owner.  PE days will be shared at the start of September and children can come dressed in PE kit on these days. Please ensure this is a pair of dark coloured leggings/shorts/tracksuit bottoms, their house colour t-shirt and a jumper.
