Friday 12th March 2021

Dear Nursery Parents,

We are so impressed by how well all the children have returned to Nursery this week after having time at home or changes at Nursery.  They have all coped very well with our new learning routine, increasing our group time sessions for teaching inputs.  All children should now be in full school uniform every day.

We are currently learning about Coventry as a whole school focus.  Our topic is called:

‘Up My Street’

Please can you send in a photo of your child standing in front of their front door (preferably with the door number in it, if you have one).  We are going to make a street in the classroom as a talking point for the children.  There is also the opportunity (see previous letter) to send in a photo of somewhere around Coventry as part of our whole school art project.  This should be sent to your child’s Tapestry account.

To support your child’s learning please ensure they have their book bag with them at school and return any reading records or books borrowed.  We will be issuing reading books with their reading records next week to continue their home learning.

All children took part in their first PE lesson today, PE will take place every Friday.  We were very impressed with their excellent listening skills and safety in climbing.  For safety reasons please ensure:

  • Your child comes dressed in jogging trousers/ shorts, socks (no tights), T-shirt and plimsols (or trainers if you don’t have them) every Friday.
  • Bring a water bottle which is named to school.
  • All jewellery needs to be removed and left at home.  Children are not allowed to wear jewellery to school.

To continue your child’s physical development please take them to different play areas in your local area.  New play areas mean new challenges supporting their later development of reading, writing and maths.

The children have started learning about their new House Team’s.  We will learn more about this next week.  Your child can wear a top (which you can buy from the school)  on Friday 19th March linked to their House Team colour.

    Your sincerely,
    Carla Lapworth
