12th January 2024

Dear Parents and Carers,

Happy New Year!

Welcome back everyone, it has been great to see how enthusiastically the children have returned to school enjoying their social interactions and learning experiences.

This week we have welcomed poet Emillie who has worked with every year group, their finished poems have been outstanding.

Year 1 enjoyed their trip (by bus) to the transport museum. They demonstrated their STOKE values and were a credit to the school and parents.

We welcomed a therapy dog, Rocky, to school yesterday who got LOTS of attention from the children. I think many wished he could stay with us all the time!! We look forward to Rocky’s next visit.

Do ask your children about their learning, they are excited about their topics, new learning and their growing ability to make links with prior learning.

This half term we are celebrating the learning quality ‘focus’ and are encouraging children to consider the characteristics of effective learning that enable them to focus well.

  • I concentrate.
  • I can participate in routines.
  • I can guide my own thinking and actions by talking to myself as I play/learn.
  • I can concentrate on achieving something that is important to me.
  • I can solve problems.
  • I can respond to new experiences when they are brought to my attention.
  • I can plan and think ahead about how I will use resources.

Reminders

  1. A reminder to ensure children have coats (gloves and hats if required) during the colder weather
  2. Please continue to support your children by hearing them read and signing Boom reader four times a week. This makes a huge difference to their progress
  3. Previously worn uniform is available on Thursdays from 3pm in main office. Do pop along.
  4. Please collect children promptly after clubs

Thank you for your ongoing support.

Wishing you and your children a happy and safe weekend.

Kind regards
