19th March 2020

Dear Parents/Carers,

Thank you for your support during these challenging days managing school in line with Government advice.

We have now received an update which confirms that I am to close school. This closure will start from Monday 23rd March and is currently for an undisclosed period. All updates will be shared via letter and the school website. We will then send a letter link via School Comms which will take you straight to the school website. Please also remember that the website letters can be read through Google Translate.

The Government guidance requests us to run school for our vulnerable children and for the children of key workers. Parents of our vulnerable children will receive a direct letter discussing school plans. If you are a key worker and will want to use school as a provider to enable you to do your job you must let us know as a matter of urgency today so that we are able to plan how it will work.

Key workers are currently defined as

  • Medical professionals including doctors, nurses, midwives, paramedics etc.
  • Other health workers - such as employment in a medical/health setting
  • Community safety - police force and fire brigade
  • Education - teachers, workers in a school or a pre-school setting
  • Supermarket workers
  • Delivery drivers
  • Anyone working in "critical infrastructure" - possibly like gas and electricity

If you are one of the above key workers and will want to use Stoke Primary for your child please contact the school office by the 3.30pm today, Thursday 19th March.

Whilst your children are off school, teachers will try and provide activities for your children to keep their brains working. This will be explained in another letter to be sent next week. Updates and new links will be shared through School Comms.

Yours sincerely
