Dear Parents and Carers,

It has been a busy week at Stoke Primary School.

We recognized mental health awareness day on Monday with all children taking part in a yoga session and a walk. We focused on five ways to look after our mental health are:

  • Being active
  • Noticing what is around us
  • Connecting with others
  • Giving
  • Learning new things

We encouraged all children to be active and connect with others during our walk! Lots of smiles, chatter and fresh air!

Children have been working hard to be the best they can be.

Please make sure your child continues to read at least 4 times a week and we ask that you / they sign their diary to show us they have done so. It really helps them make good progress if they read at home. They also receive rewards for reading so they really need your support with this.

Children in Maths are using different apparatus across the school to demonstrate their understanding, solve problems and are developing their ability to reason when discussing their methods. We have been impressed with how they are becoming more articulate when discussing their working out.

Please see our website for photos of what the children have been up to at the library, the zoo, in forest school and in class!

Thank you for your ongoing support.

Kind regards

Lucy Pater
