Dear parents and carers,

We hope you and your children are all well. We know lots of the children would have been looking forward to coming back to school today.  All the Year One team were also excited to welcome your children back and find out about their Christmas holidays.

We had lots of exciting plans for this half term for in school learning.  Please be assured we are working really hard to ensure that the children receive lots of engaging and educational home learning activities which will be delivered in a range of ways.

Here are some of the activities we are planning:

Story time

Zoom chat with children (children can tell us about their holidays and see their friends online)

Phonics/Maths and English video sessions

Purplemash activities (logins are in their school diaries)

Individual weekly readers

Individual phonics and other specific interventions (identified children)

Topic related activities

There will also be individual work packs for your children.  We will let you know when these can be collected from school as soon as we can.  The expectation will be that the children complete one piece of work daily for Phonics, English, Maths and a topic or handwriting activity (this may be a sheet from their pack or a photo of an activity relating to a video lessons). This work can then be emailed to: Year1-Homeschooling@stoke.coventry.sch.uk.

We will also let you know more specific details about what we are doing and how to access Zoom, through the school website and via the school Facebook page, so please keep a look out for more information.
