Information for Year 5 and 6

September 2020

I am sure you are all eager to return to school in September and we are really looking forward to welcoming you back. In preparation we have done a lot of work in the year 5/6 cloakroom and toilets to improve them.

We now have new cubby holes for children to store their belongings. This will allow for more space in the cloakrooms and help children to keep their belongings together more easily.

For this reason we are asking children to only bring a coat plus their lunch box/bag to school where they can also put their reading book/diary. There is not room in the cubbyholes for large rucksacks and there is nothing else the children need to bring to school in bigger bags.

PE days will be shared with parents at the start of term and we are asking children to come to school dressed in their PE kit. The children will have their PE lesson in the afternoon and return home dressed in their kit.

This kit must be weather appropriate so you will need to have:

· plain white t shirt

· dark coloured shorts

· tracksuit bottoms

· hoodless tracksuit top

· trainers

Please make sure ALL items bought to school are named. You would be surprised how many children in Year 5 and 6 have the same coats/bags/lunchboxes and when left lying around cannot be returned to their owner.
