Sports Fest planning is underway as the event returns this month for the 2023 instalment.

The free, six-day event will be back in Broadgate from Tuesday 25 July – Sunday 30 July.

As always, Sports Fest will feature a wide range of sports and wellbeing activities that are suitable for all ages and abilities.

Sports Fest falls perfectly in the summer holidays, with activities running from 10am – 4pm each day in Coventry city centre. Local sports clubs and organisations will be at the event, showcasing their skills and offering opportunities to get involved along with National Governing Bodies.

Cheerleading, judo, rugby, table tennis and goal ball are all on the sporty schedule for the week.

This year, the event will be delivered by Coventry City council in partnership with CV Life. Actiities will also be hosted by a range of community organisations and sports clubs. Councillor Kamran Caan, Cabinet Member for Public Health and Sport, said: “Sports Fest is one of the highlights of the sporting summer calendar in Coventry. Last year we celebrated 10 years of Sports Fest and we weren't going to stop there.
“We know so many love this event and it caters for all ages and abilities. And of course, it’s free which means anyone in the city can enjoy the event for no cost. We will be in Broadgate all week, so we encourage people to come along, all week if they wish, and enjoy the free activities with us.”

Previous Sports Fest events that have been held attracted thousands of residents and visitors. 2022’s 10th anniversary event tracted more than 15,000 people in just six days. Each morning, there will be a quiet hour from 10am - 11am for those who wish to enjoy the sports and activities in a quieter environment.

Coventry’s discount scheme, Go CV, will also be celebrating a special milestone during Sports Fest. More information will be revealed on this soon.
