Nursery Information for Parents/Carers

Each week starting with Number 1 learn to recognise, write and apply each number.

Use the book in your home learning pack to have a go at writing the numbers.

Hello Nursery children and parents.

I hope you are all keeping safe and well.

I also hope that all the Nursery children are beginning to work hard with their home learning packs.

Before the school shutdown we had started to learn numbers 1 and 2 using the Numberblocks videos. Hopefully children you can now recognise, write and use numbers 1 and 2.  If not keep on trying, I know you will soon be able to if you work hard.

Enjoy the song and learning about 2d shapes.  Do not forget to have a go at drawing the shapes in your home learning book.

Next week (Wk3) you should be working on the Numberblocks video number 3, and also listening to the Peppa Pig stories.  I want to know what your favourite story is so do not forget to draw a picture of your favourite story in your home learning book.

I am excited to see your home learning books when you return to school.

Dear Nursery children and their parents,

Easter is here and the sun is out.  Don't forget your sun hat, and sun cream to keep you safe in the sun like in the Peppa Pig story (Wk 3 Hot Sunny Day).

I am looking forward to my Easter Egg on Sunday as I have not had any chocolate for 3 weeks now.

I miss my days teaching you in Nursery, so keep safe during the lockdown and enjoy the sunshine while it lasts.

Happy Easter,

Mrs Fletcher

Hello Nursery children and parents.

I hope you are all keeping safe and well.

I also hope that this week all the Nursery children are back working on their home learning packs.

Before Easter we had started to learn number 3.  This week you should be learning the Numberblocks video number 4, as well as the Mr Tumble web link for this week.

I am excited to hear about the work you are doing in your home learning pack, and what numbers you can now recognise, write and use.

I am missing teaching you all in the Nursery Class.

This is a story that we would have been reading in Nursery.  It is one of my favourite stories so I hope you enjoy it.

This week you should be working on the Numberblocks video number 5.  Use your home learning book to

have a go at writing the new number 5.  Can you write numbers 1 to 5 in order?

Hi Parents and Carers,

I really enjoyed talking to all the Nursery parents and some of the children last week.  I hope you all had a great bank holiday, and some of you may have celebrated VE Day.

Don’t forget this week we are learning to recognise and write number 6 (Numberblocks video is at the beginning of the Home Learning on this page).  Children should now be able to recognise numbers to 5, and trying hard to write them.  Don’t forget that the children can use the Number Formation Rhymes in week 7 to help them write these numbers.  Children can practice writing the numbers in the book with the different coloured pages that was sent home in the Home Learning pack.

Following on from the Hungry Caterpillar Story from last week, can children now retell the story to someone in their household.  Then draw three pictures to sequence the story.  I cannot wait to see all of the amazing work that your child has done.

Hi Parents and Carers,

I really enjoyed talking to the remaining Nursery parents and some of the children last week.

Don’t forget this week we are learning to recognise and write number 7 (Numberblocks video is at the beginning of the Home Learning on this page).  Children should now be able to recognise numbers to 6, and still trying hard to write them.  Don’t forget that the children can use the Number Formation Rhymes in week 7 to help them write these numbers.  Children can practice writing the numbers in the book with the different coloured pages that was sent home in the Home Learning pack.

Hopefully your child was able to tell someone in their household the Hungry Caterpillar Story, I am looking forward to seeing the three pictures that help to sequence the story.  Again I cannot wait to see all of the amazing work that your child has done.

Also this week I would like the children to listen to the story called ZOG.  It is about a dragon and I'm sure your children will love to listen to this exciting story by Julia Donaldson.

After your child has listened to the story maybe you could you ask the question:

"Could Zog be a flying doctor for the NHS?"

                         and

"How would Zog be able to help?

Whatever their answer is please write it in your child's Home Learning Book so I can see their ideas.

Next week will be the Spring Bank holiday, and hopefully the sunny weather will continue.

Take care and keep safe everyone.

Mrs Fletcher
