Dear Year 6JJ,
I hope you have been keeping well during these uncertain times?
I am really excited about having the opportunity to work with an amazing group of Year 6’s from September. The children, whom I will be lucky enough to work with will come and share their awesomeness with me for the morning. I look forward to working together to develop your knowledge and skills in your Maths, Reading and Writing. In the afternoons you will be back with the rest of the year 6 children for your wider curricular learning.
What to tell you about me?
- I have been teaching for over 25 Years (that makes me REALLY old!) and have taught most year groups but have a lot of experience with upper Key stage 2
- I have been at Stoke for over two years
- I believe in honesty, hard work, and giving your best – if you can do all of these, I can ask no more of you.
- I believe that everyone has amazing talents. The job of schools is to help you unlock them. I have no doubt that there will be amazing artists, sportsmen, scientist, musicians, actors and singers amongst you. I can’t wait for you to share in your wider learning.
(Ssh…. Don’t tell anyone, but I’ve been learning to tap dance…. Maybe I’ll show you?)
There is so much to look forward to about in Y6 with trips, performances and visitors and, on top of that, you become the biggest most responsible children in Stoke Primary School. You will become the ambassadors for everything Stoke!
Enjoy the summer break with family and friends. Don’t worry about starting Year 6; we know times are strange and that there will be much to do when you return but the amazing staff in Year 6 are there to support you. Have a go at some learning over the break whether it be reading, some writing or even your Times Tables Rock stars – a little bit of work will go a long way and help you in September.
I look forward to working with you all. I look forward to helping and supporting you all. More significantly, I look forward to getting to know you individually.
Be brave, be bold and shoot for the stars!
