13th September 2021 Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome back! I hope you all had a great summer. It has been a busy start in Year 6 continuing our ‘Unexplained Mysteries’ topic. This is the topic that the children chose during our transition week and has been led by their interests so it will be slightly different for both classes. We hope the children will share what they have been learning in class with you over the next few weeks. I have been impressed with how the children have returned. They have been eager to learn, engaged with the topic and have conducted themselves well this week.
This term our PE days are Thursday and Friday. For each day we ask that the children come dressed in their PE kit, including their house-coloured T shirt. Thursday will be outdoor PE so they will need to be suitably dressed for outdoors including tracksuit bottoms and jumper as the weather turns colder. On a Friday it will be indoor PE, starting with Gymnastics. For this, the children must have shorts or leggings (not tracksuit bottoms) but may wear tracksuit bottoms over the top during the day if it is cold.
As you are already aware, we have booked to take the Y6 children to Plas Dol Y Moch on October 10th – 14th. Thank you to those parents who have made their payments over the Summer ready for this. As we are the only school at the centre during this time, there are further spaces available if you have not yet requested one. Please speak to one of the Y6 team if you would like further information.
Please remember to come and speak to any member of the Year 6 team if you have any questions or queries, there will always be one of us on the gate in the morning and afternoon. We look forward to working with you over the coming year.
Yours Sincerely,
Mr Bennett & Miss Ashford Year 6
