Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome back to a new term. The children are settling in well to Year 5 Otter Class and they have engaged in their learning with enthusiasm. Our learning for the start of this half term is linked to the theme of ‘Magic’. We hope the children will share with you what they have been learning in class over the next few weeks. Already, the children have shown their creative side while developing their sketching skills and use of watercolour in art lessons.
This term our PE days are Tuesdays (swimming in the afternoons at the Alan Higgs Centre) and Fridays:
On Tuesdays, the children will come to school in their uniform and bring their swimming kit in a bag (swimming costume/shorts and a towel). We will be back at school ready for the end of the school day.
On Fridays, we ask that the children come dressed in their PE kit, including their house-coloured T shirt – this will be outdoor PE so they will need to be suitably dressed for the outdoors including tracksuit bottoms and jumper if the weather is cold.
Please remember to come and speak to any member of the Year 5 team if you have any questions or queries, there will always be one of us on the gate in the mornings and afternoons. We look forward to working with you over the coming year.
