20th October 2023

Dear Parents and Carers,

How we talk

One more week before the half term break. Please help us maintain high standards of behavior by praising good manners and acknowledging respect and understanding shown by children. We hope that during the break, you will get to spend some time listening to your children talk about their favorite parts of the term so far! Check out the website to see photos of their experiences at Stoke – it might prompt their discussions too! The conversations you involve your children in are so valuable for developing their vocabulary and understanding of the world. Your children are all amazing, so these conversations are great fun too!

Be Kind!

We have celebrated acts of kindness this week and encouraged children to think about their actions. Kindness costs nothing but can make the day a lot better where it is shared! We encourage the children to take a solution focused approach to challenges. Children feel empowered by taking responsibility and finding ways to solve problems and come to agreements.

Thank you for helping your children be the best they can be and for embracing their school experiences and development.

Reminders

Please come to the SEND coffee morning Wednesday 25th October 9-10.30am – an opportunity to talk to Mrs Morris (SENDCo), myself (Inclusion Lead), Mrs Cain (Complex Communication Team) and Mrs Marlow (Social, Emotional, Mental Health and Learning).

We break up for half term on Friday 27th October and return on Tuesday 7th November. Staff have a training day on Monday 6th November. School is closed to children this day.

Please drive and park safely around school avoiding use of the school carparks (unless by prior agreement).

Thank you for your ongoing support, have a safe weekend.

Kind regards

Lucy Pater

Deputy Headteacher
