Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome back! The Summer seems to have flown by and it has been a busy start in Year 2 with our new ‘Superheroes and Villains’ topic. This is the topic that we introduced to the children during our transition week and has been led by the interests of the children. We hope the children will share what they have been learning in class with you over the next few weeks.  We have been so impressed with how quickly all of the children have settled in to their new class.

This term our PE days are Tuesday and Wednesday. We ask that children have a named P.E kit, including their house coloured T shirt, in school all of the time where possible.  These will be sent home before the half term break. Tuesday will be outdoor PE so children will need suitable clothing for outdoors including tracksuit bottoms or leggings and a jumper as the weather turns colder. On a Wednesday it will be indoor PE, starting with Fundamental Movements, looking at different ways of travelling. For this the children must have shorts.  We will be going swimming later in the year and further information will be shared with you nearer the time.

Please remember to come and speak to any member of the year 2 team if you have any questions or queries.  There will always be one of us on the gate in the morning and afternoon. We look forward to working with you over the coming year.
