Dear Parents and Carers,

We have had another busy week where your wonderful children continue to wow us with their knowledge, developing skills, kindness and empathy. They really are fabulous young people who make us staff feel privileged to work with them. Thank you for lending them to us every day! They absolutely motivate us all to work hard to provide the best opportunities for them.

On Monday, we attached bags of rubbish to Mr Ascroft to demonstrate how much litter we create as a school. We reflected on what can be recycled to reduce the waste going to landfill. Mr Ascroft just about to walk with all the litter attached though taking a phone call proved impossible!

On Tuesday the whole school welcomed the ‘Olympic torch’ carried by children from Gosford Park Primary School. The children made flags and waved the torch through our corridor of children outside. The school council shared cakes with them before they left again.

On Wednesday a selection of children from every year group then took the torch on to St John Fisher Primary School. It was an exciting couple of days enjoyed by the whole school.

Year 4 had a fabulous day in Forest school on Wednesday cooking like Anglo Saxons (even during a spot of rain!). There was a healthy smell of campfire wafting through the school and some delicious home cooked bread made.

We welcomed Greg Bottrill to school yesterday. He is a well-known Early years’ expert advocating the importance of play and adventure for children. We welcomed nearly 80 staff from schools around Coventry and beyond to hear him deliver the ‘play projects’ message. He left our Reception team further inspired to continue finding the best ways to unlock our children’s potential.

If you have any questions, please pop into the school office or email to request a time to meet. We will always do our best to support you.

Thank you for your ongoing support. Have a happy and safe weekend.

Kind regards
