On Wednesday 28th February 2024, a selection of children from across out school were involved in the Flame of Friendship relay.
The Flame of Friendship is linked with the Olympic Games, and a special relay event is held every 4 years in the lead up to the opening ceremony of the games. The Flame of Friendship is designed to symbolise the connections we make between the Olympic countries, friendship being the most important. The flame was designed by a year 7 pupil (who attends Finham Park School in Coventry) and was built at WMG academy. The flame then began its journey around Coventry schools on the 22nd January 2024, where it will spend 24 hours at 105 different schools before arriving at Coventry Cathedral in July for the celebration ceremony.
A group of 21 pupils from Stoke worked together to run the flame from our school onto the next- St John Fisher Catholic Primary School. We loved having the flame here and we are hoping to take part again in 4 years time!
