Dear Parents and Carers

Thank you for your understanding following the closure of Stoke today.   We have had an increase in staff absence following positive covid tests making the full opening of school impossible.

Today I have met with Coventry City Council and Public Health England to have plans approved.

From tomorrow Stoke will reopen to Year 2, Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6.  We look forward to all these children returning.

Year 1 will return to school on Thursday 20th January.

Unfortunately, we are not able to stay open to Nursery, Reception and Year 3.  Work for these year groups will be provided on the website.  Staff will be contacting children on a regular basis during the time they are not in school.  This many be through a phone call or Microsoft Teams for group work.  It is vital that these contacts are supported so that we can maintain the education for all our children.  Please support your children with the work and encourage them to complete tasks set.

If your child is in the closed classes and has an increased vulnerability you will be contacted by school individually.  If both parents are Key Workers and can prove this there is capacity to support your child with space in school.  If this affects you please email school using covidreporting@stoke.coventry.sch.uk .

Thank you for your understanding and ongoing support.

Yours Sincerely

Mathew Ascroft
