8th December 2023

Dear Parents and Carers,

Christmas Events!

Here at Stoke, we continue to work extremely hard in the lead up to Christmas whilst also embracing the festive feel. The tree continues to be a talking point as do the decorations and anticipation for future events. Please see the website for all that is happening in the run up to Christmas. I told the children about our Winter Wonderland experience today and they are hoping you will enjoy this with them! On 21st December at 1.30-4pm, we would like you to collect your children and enter our magical Christmas experience. A big part of this is the fact we have a real-life Nativity scene coming to our playground. Children will be able to talk to Mary, Joseph and the shepherds and say hello to the real life donkey, sheep, and goat. You will be able to purchase hot food, hot chocolate and come and buy the very unique keep sakes your children have made today using natural or recyclable materials during our House Entrepreneur’s Day. There will be a tombola, bric a brac, fun games, live music and so much more! We cannot wait to share this experience with all of you.

We also have our Santa’s grotto from next Friday. Please ensure you have purchased your tickets and bring your children to the correct House day for this!

Thank you

Thank you to all those who came to our half termly SEND coffee morning. We love to spend time with you, hear your stories of celebrations, solution find with you and hear your views about how to continue to strengthen our inclusive practice. Following on from your feedback, our next coffee morning will involve an opportunity to chat to class teachers as well as SENDCos who work so closely with your children to understand their needs and deliver appropriate strategies.

Reminders

  1. A reminder to ensure children have coats (gloves and hats if required) as the weather gets colder
  2. Please continue to support your children by hearing them read and signing Boom reader four times a week. This makes a huge difference to their progress
  3. Previously worn uniform is available on Thursdays from 3pm in main office. Do pop along.
  4. New to Stoke drop in 2pm 15th December where we have a number of interpreters joining us to ensure we can communicate well and discover how we can further support you and your children as you settle at Stoke Primary School.
  5. Dec 18th 9am – years 1,2,3: performance to parents 2.30pm – years 4,5,6 performance to parents

Wishing you and your children a happy and safe weekend.  Thank you for your ongoing support.

Kind regards
