Welcome Back Reception

Dear Parents and Carers,

We are looking forward to having the children back in school on Monday.  It will be a chance to see how much they have come on during their home learning and get quickly back into our normal school routine.

We will be starting a new Coventry topic about where we live and what we do, linking to our city of culture, focusing on music and the arts.  We also have the introduction of our new School House Teams to look forward to.

We are going to be introducing show and tell sessions and home reading prizes this half term.  There will be more information on this in school diaries next week.

You will be aware that Mrs Haywood has gone on maternity leave and we will have Mrs Thomas join us on Thursdays and Fridays until the end of the school year. 

Please ensure any final home learning photos are sent in by Friday afternoon, to allow us time to get journals up to date.  We will then be switching back to our usual in-school communications via the school office and on the gate.

A few reminders:

• Children will need full school uniform, including a warm coat whilst this varied weather continues.
• Our PE day this half term is Wednesday.  Please send in PE kits as soon as possible, making sure all items are labelled.
• Children all took a reading book home before Christmas.  Please find the book and school diary and make sure they are in school everyday.  We will be changing home readers early on next week, so that children can get back into practising regularly at home.
• Any work that has been completed in books during the closure can come into school on Monday.  We will have boxes in the classroom for the children to put work in, so please just leave this in book bags rather than passing them over on the gate and we will support the children in the classroom.
• You will receive a text message with your child’s collection time, later today. We will be continuing to bring children out to the school gate in groups.
