Resources- Developing Language and Listening Skills

It is really important to encourage conversation and talking with your child.  Give them time to think and process what you have said.  Practise the back and forth of conversation with your child everyday.

 

Make sure your child's time spent listening and concentrating is realistic.  The average child can concentrate for their age plus 5 minutes- for example, if your child is 3, they will be able to concentrate for 8 minutes approximately.
