Nursery Home Learning

Happy New Year!

It was lovely to see many of you on Tuesday as we delivered the home learning packs and thank you for your patience while we came up with a plan that will hopefully be successful for all children, whether they are at home or in keyworker provision at school.

Stoke Primary school are operating at a limited capacity and are open to Keyworker and vulnerable children only.  If you think you are eligible for Keyworker provision please contact the school office and complete the Keyworker form.

The government has made it clear that during this period of home learning we must ensure children are continuing to make progress with the Early Years curriculum and that whether they are in provision at school or at home, children will have the same learning experiences.   We will be providing weekly learning linked to language development, which has already gone out in packs.  These activities need to be repeated several times for them to be fully effective and to embed learning.

There will be links to support learning in different areas of the curriculum with relevant questioning for you to work with your child at home.  It is important that your child has time to play with toys, jigsaws, making up stories and sharing books with you.  If you need any books or jigsaws to support learning at home we can arrange this for you to collect from school.  We understand that it may be difficult to manage all of the activities with other responsibilities at home but there is an expectation that children will be supported to participate in their learning where possible.

Activities will be posted on the website at the start of each week related to our learning in class. There are also Purple Mash activities that have been set as ‘To Do’s’ and these can be completed and submitted.

Tapestry photos and observations…

We need you to send in photos or videos of the activities and learning that children are taking part in, so that we can see how everyone is getting on and evidence children’s learning in their online journals.  This can easily be done from your mobile phone or tablet through the tapestry app.

We also hope to have a nursery zoom story session each day at 11am.  This will start from Monday 11th January.

Please follow the link below to join the story session a few minutes before 11am. You can join from a phone, laptop or tablet but will need a cameras or webcam. As you join you will go into the virtual waiting room and will then be admitted by the teacher at 11am. Please make sure your camera is on so we can see who we have joining us and rename yourself as your child e.g. Sam.
