It is important to focus on developing listening skills for reading and sound recognition. This starts with phase 1 letters and sounds. There are a series of lessons that support this which I will add to here.
Reading to your child daily, talking about the pictures and encouraging them to join in with repeated text really supports your child's reading and language skills.
