Early Years PE
Our early years provision focuses on the fundamentals of movement and co-ordination with a variety of equipment and apparatus. It is important that all of the lessons with the children in reception have FUN whilst learning new challenging skills.
We use a range of equipment to take the children on a journey that they can relate too. For example we play invasion games that have two teams called Bluey and Peppa Pig which creates instant engagement into the game. These activities create opportunity to use equipment that will help them in PE as they develop within the school such as football and tennis. We also incorporate basic number, colour, animal and shape challenges withing the lesson, for example, team monkey need to collect the green cones and team giraffe have to red cones. Having a theme for our PE lessons creates an immersive experience for all of the children to engage in and connect with.
