Today, much like Howard Carter in 1922 we stepped into the tomb of Tutankhamun. The tomb was incredibly dark, we carried torches to illuminate the space searching for as many clues and artefacts as we could. We carefully explored each chamber, discussing the significance of each artefact within .As historians we began to ask enquiry questions about the artefacts, how the tomb was decorated and the tomb’s layout. This offered important insights into the burial practices and beliefs surrounding death in ancient Egypt. The disturbed nature of certain areas probed questions to suggest Howard Carter was not the first to enter the tomb. After our expedition, we documented all our findings, carried our further research and reflected on what the artefacts could reveal about the life of a pharaoh in ancient Egypt.
