Dear Parents and Carers,

You may know that our Year 6 children will be completing their SATS tests next week. Whilst we want every child to try their best and feel proud that they have persevered and challenged themselves, we do not want any child feeling worried about this time. They have worked hard and we are proud of them for that. The best way you can help your child now, is by ensuring they get a good nights sleep, eat and drink well and are in school on time. SATS results don’t define them but their resilience, effort and attitude are important for all they do in life.

We were pleased with the amazing turn out to our Early Years information evening last night where we welcomed many new (and existing) families into school to find out more about their child’s journey with us at Stoke. Exciting times ahead!

We welcomed SENDCos from across the city to a Year 6 Parent and child coffee afternoon on Tuesday. This was a brilliant opportunity for both Parents and children to ask questions and find out more about what life at secondary school will be like. We are committed to making the transition as smooth as possible.

Reminders:

As mentioned last week, we are on the lookout for:

  • Wheeled objects (prams, suitcases, scooters, dolls pushchairs)
  • Old pots and pans
  • Dressing up clothes

If you are getting rid of any of the above items, please let us know!! Thank you.

Please continue to hear your child read at home and provide space and time for them to complete any home learning they may have. This really helps their progress. Little and often and at a time they are most receptive is best!!

We are here to answer any question and support in any way we can. Just ask! We hope you have a good weekend.

Thank you for your ongoing support.

Kind regards

Lucy Pater
