10th January 2025

Dear Parents and Carers,

Wow, wow, WOW! What a fantastic first week back we’ve had here at school! The children—and the staff—have returned full of energy and enthusiasm, and it's been wonderful to see everyone so eager to dive straight into their new topics and learning.

This week, we have been so fortunate to work with the incredibly talented poet Emilie Lauren Jones. Emilie has worked with us across all key stages, holding assemblies that inspired and engaged the children, sparking their imaginations about the power of poetry. After these assemblies, each class had the opportunity to spend time with Emilie in poetry workshops, where they explored the art of constructing their own poems. The children were so creative, and we are absolutely delighted to share that their hard work culminated in a beautiful poetry performance today! Thank you to everyone who attended—we are incredibly proud of what the children have achieved and thank you to Mrs. Morris for organising the week!

Alongside our poetry workshops, we’ve also been bringing science to life with some exciting lessons in the classroom! The children have been diving deep into their new science topics, and we are gearing up for an exciting Science Assembly next week. We can’t wait to share more!

As we head into the colder months, we would like to remind everyone to please be extra mindful of hygiene. With flu and sickness bugs circulating, it’s more important than ever that we encourage our children to wash their hands regularly, both at school and at home. By working together, we can help keep everyone as healthy and safe as possible during this busy winter season.

We hope you all have a lovely weekend ahead and thank you as always for your continued support.
