6th December 2024

Dear Parents and Carers,

What a busy and fun-filled week we’ve had at school! From festive events to animal visitors, it has been a truly exciting time at Stoke!

A huge thank you to everyone who supported our Book Fayre this week – it was a massive success! The children had a great time choosing their books. We hope you found something your child loved, and that the excitement of reading continues to grow at home.

We also held our very first Bedtime Story Event this week, which was truly magical! It was lovely to see so many children return to school in their PJs, with blankets and cuddly toys in tow, ready to enjoy some cosy stories and hot chocolate. A big thank you to the parents who stayed to chat about how to support their children's reading journey. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, and we’re looking forward to next year’s already. A huge thank you also to our wonderful staff for making this magical evening happen!

In addition to all the reading-related fun, Year 6 had a special visit on Tuesday from some animal friends as part of their classification science topic. The children loved learning about different animals, and a special mention must go to Mr. Morrow for being so brave and holding the snake!

A massive congratulations to our Reception and Nursery children who performed their Nativity today. The nativity was completely written by the children themselves, and their talents really shone through. We are so proud of them, and it was wonderful to see the joy and pride on their faces as they performed for us.

Finally, a big thank you to everyone who attended our Festive Fayre yesterday! It was wonderful to see so many of you there, soaking up the festive atmosphere and supporting our school. We hope you had a great time, and that it brought some extra holiday cheer to your week.

Reminders for Next Week:
Looking ahead, next week we have our much-anticipated House Singing Events followed by the Stoke Grotto! The singing performances will start at 2:30pm in the hall, and the Grotto will be open from 3:00pm – 4:00pm. We can’t wait to see as many of you there as possible to join in the festive fun. Grotto tickets are £2 per child and can be purchased at the office, on the MyChildAtSchoolApp, or on the day!

  • Ricoh – Monday, 9th December
  • Sky Blue – Tuesday, 10th December
  • Godiva – Wednesday, 11th December
  • Belgrade – Thursday, 12th December

Thank you for your continued support, and we hope you have a safe and restful weekend.
