3rd May 2024 Dear Parents and Carers,
We hear much in the news about changes to the climate and world sustainability. Here at Stoke, we are joining the Grapevine project in their efforts to make small changes that benefit Ball Hill. Ball Hill today, the world tomorrow!! This week a group of staff and Governors joined a discussion that will launch our own change project. Early thoughts are that this will be around recycling and how we can reduce the amount of waste going to landfill. Watch this space for ways we can all do our bit! If this is a particular passion of yours, please do let me know!!
Our assembly theme continues to be the art of reflection. We have been extending this to playtimes where children have had the opportunity to make use of our new amphitheatre. In a busy world, taking the time to stop, think and reflect on choices is so important. Children are beginning to see the benefits of this.
We have exciting plans to revolutionise the playground making break times more purposeful and enjoyable for all children. This will take time but over the next year we hope to add a number of exciting opportunities for the children. We are on the lookout for:
Wheeled objects (prams, suitcases, scooters, dolls pushchairs) Old pots and pans Dressing up clothes
If you are getting rid of any of the above items, please let us know!! Thank you. Please continue to hear your child read at home and provide space and time for them to complete any home learning they may have. This really helps their progress. Little and often and at a time they are most receptive is best!!
We are here to answer any question and support in any way we can. Just ask!
We hope you have a relaxing long weekend. See you Tuesday 7th May.
Thank you for your ongoing support.
Kind regards
Lucy Pater Deputy Headteacher
