Dear Parents and Carers,

Well, what an amazing first week back at school! Year 3 had a fabulous trip to Kingsbury Water Park on Wednesday and Year 1 thought they were on holiday on their trip to Western Super-Mare yesterday! Both Year 1 and Year 3 were extremely well behaved, well mannered and a credit to both you and the school. Please do look on the website and check out the photos with your children over the weekend.

We have been thinking about our value ‘Empathy’ this week and have seen some superb reflections from our children with year 2 creating an empathy banner and being able to articulate their empathy resolutions. Empathy is perhaps one of the hardest values for children to understand but is so incredibly important and will help them throughout their lives as they navigate tricky relationships and situations.

A reminder of our STOKE values – solution focused, truthful, optimistic, kind and empathetic.

Our learning qualities – to… challenge, persevere, focus, explore, reflect and celebrate. Summer 2 is always a great term to celebrate with Sports days and end of term awards.

A reminder that children should be collected by an adult or sibling over the age of 14. If this is not the case, it is vital that you arrange a meeting with Mr Ascroft to discuss your situation.

Year 1 classrooms have had some building work completed and are loving their new spaces which are enabling further creative, imaginative and independent solutions to their learning.

Next week, Year 1 will be doing their phonics screening tests while Year 4 are doing their multiplication tests. These are done in a very child appropriate way and we just ask the children to try their best celebrating their effort and achievement.

A reminder that we have a staff training day on June 14^th so children will not be in school.
