Dear Parents and Carers,
It has been a full and busy 8-week half term and the children (and staff!) are certainly ready for a break. We continue to be so proud of how hard both children and staff work to achieve great outcomes. This half term we have been celebrating children’s ability to ‘challenge themselves’. We have seen children overcome worries, try new things, learn new skills and set new goals. Next half term our focus will be on persevering to the best of our abilities.
Last Friday afternoon we celebrated World Values day in house teams. The children did a variety of fun activities in which they thought about being Solution Focused, Truthful, Optimistic, Kind and Empathetic. Some of the activities included finding solutions to problems or games and thinking and planning kind acts including a visit to a local care home.
Our ‘brilliant band’ slot this week saw ‘The Candy girls’ perform to the whole school, Whilst a little nervous at first, Layal and Pixie soon found their confidence. I have school bands signed up for all of next half term too; we may have to start having more than one a week! It has been great to see children working together, creating tunes and lyrics about things they are passionate about or interested in…. Britain’s got Talent…here we come!!?!!
Year 1 had a week of outside learning and were so creative, imaginative and energetic as they had explored Forest school and applied a whole host of skills. We continue to drive our outside provision and are always on the lookout for wellies to enable all weather access. We would love any donations your children have grown out of.
Don’t forget to look at the photos in the gallery on the website with your children. I am sure they would love to talk you through the exciting things they have been doing.
Welcome to all new starters – please see our Instagram page for welcome photos.
We hope you have a good break with your wonderful children. We look forward to seeing you all on Monday 4th November. Please let us know if you need any advice, support or help and thank you again for working in partnership with us.
Kind regards
