Year 6 have been diving into an exciting topic about the human body, focusing specifically on the heart and its functions. As part of their learning, they had the incredible opportunity to cut open a lamb's heart and explore its structure up close. They carefully examined the veins and arteries, gaining firsthand insight into how blood flows through the heart. Students were able to observe the journey of deoxygenated blood as it moves from the heart to the lungs, and how oxygenated blood circulates throughout the body. This hands-on experience helped them understand the heart's vital role in keeping the body functioning.
