We applied our new knowledge of circuits and electrical flow to create a functioning switch. First, we conducted a test to identify which materials acted as insulators or conductors of electricity. Using split pins and card, we then built our own switches.
Before adding the switch to the circuit, we made predictions about what would happen and discussed how we could measure whether electrical flow was present. It was an exciting moment when our switches successfully completed the circuit, causing the lamp to light up—proving that our designs worked.
