Today, Year 4 stepped into the shoes of archaeologists, taking on the exciting task of investigating a mock excavation site near our school grounds. Just like real archaeologists, we carefully excavated artefacts, recorded our findings and began asking thoughtful questions about each item.
Using our knowledge of history, we made predictions about what time period each artefact might belong to, what it may have been used for and how it helps us understand the past more deeply. From surveying the site to analysing clues, the day gave us a real insight into the important role archaeologists play in uncovering and interpreting history.
