Dear Parents and Carers,

Year 2 Sealife Centre Trip

The Year 2 children had a wonderful time on their trip to the Sealine Centre and returned full of excitement and enthusiasm. They loved learning about the animals and many came back proudly talking about their new favourite creatures, eager to share what they had discovered. Throughout the visit, the children were a credit to the school — their behaviour was impeccable, showing curiosity, kindness and excellent listening. It was a truly enjoyable and memorable experience for everyone involved. 🐢🐠

National Puzzle Day

This week’s House Afternoon, celebrating National Puzzle Day, was thoroughly enjoyed by the children across the school. Pupils were mixed into their house teams, giving them the opportunity to work alongside school mates of different ages as they tackled a wide range of puzzles, from exciting escape-room challenges to traditional jigsaw puzzles. The atmosphere was full of teamwork, problem-solving and fun. These afternoons are always a favourite, as the children love spending time with their siblings and building friendships with others from across the school community. 🧩✨

Important: Please make sure you inform the office staff of any changes of address, phone number or email address as soon as possible. It is important we are able to contact you in case of an emergency. Please note, we need at least two contact numbers for each child.

Every Heart Matters Week (week beginning 9th February)

We will be raising money for a defibrator machine to be placed into the Meadow. You will shortly be receiving a letter outlining all of the exciting things that will be taking place throughout the week.

Year Group Attendance

  • School starts at 8:55am. Nursey starts at 8:45am. If your child arrives after this time, they are recorded as late. Please allow plenty of time for your journey.

  • If your child is ill, it is your responsibility to let school know on each day of absence. Please use the Studybugs App to do this. The Family Team may ask for medical evidence if your child is absent for a number of days.

  • Please be specific with why your child is absent. We won’t authorise absence for reasons like ‘feeling unwell’, ‘feeling tired’, ‘didn’t sleep well last night’, ‘feels sick.’

  • Please don’t use the description ‘sick’ unless your child has vomited.

  • If you don’t report your child’s absence before 9:30am, you will receive an automated message from Studybugs. If you don’t respond to Studybugs, the Family Team will either phone you or conduct a home visit.

  • Please make all medical appointments outside of school hours where possible. If your child does have a medical appointment in school time, please bring evidence so the absence can be authorised. This includes GP, dentist, optician and hospital appointments.

If you are worried about your child’s attendance or punctuality, please get in touch with the Family Team who will be happy meet with you.
