Dear Parents and Carers,

ROCKSTEADY

We had a Rocksteady launch assembly this Tuesday, and it was fantastic. The purpose of the assembly was to introduce the children to what rock bands are, the different instruments involved, and how they could create a band themselves. There was a brilliant live performance that showcased these instruments and really captured the children’s attention. The students thoroughly enjoyed it, with some even calling it the best assembly ever. They were fully engaged and had lots of fun throughout. Rocksteady lessons will begin on Monday 2nd February, running from 8:30am to 11:00am, and parents are invited to sign up their children.

OPAL donations

‘The OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning) programme transforms primary school playtimes by creating engaging, inclusive, and, most importantly, fun outdoor environments that encourage, and facilitate self-directed play.’ But for this to continue, we need your help! We are in need of donations for OPAL items. Items such as toy cars, toy animals, old prams and dolls, soft toys, dressing up clothes / hats, action figures, bubble mixture or chalk.

Every Heart Matters Week

We are raising money for a defibrillator which is being installed in the Meadow. We have found a charity who can support us with this, so we will be offering lots of different activities to help us. You will be receiving more information about this soon!

Crowd Funding

As many of you will know, we are very proud of our adapted provision, the Aviary, where our dedicated staff work tirelessly to support and educate children with more complex needs. For some of our children, transitions - including moving from the Aviary classroom to the toilet - can be particularly challenging and distressing.

To better support their independence, dignity and wellbeing, we are hoping to raise funds to build a toilet within the Aviary itself. This would make a significant difference to our children by reducing anxiety around transitions and supporting their toileting needs in a calm, familiar environment.

We have therefore set up a crowdfunding page to help make this possible. Any donation, no matter how small, and any sharing of the page would be hugely appreciated. Thank you so much for your continued support.
