Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome Back! Welcome back, everyone! We hope you all had a wonderful half term break. It’s been fantastic to see the children return to school full of energy, enthusiasm and smiles. We have another exciting few weeks of learning ahead before the Christmas break, and it’s already been a brilliant start to the half term!
Year 3 – Natural History Museum Trip Year 3 had a fab time on their trip to the Natural History Museum this week! The children were fascinated by the exhibits – it was a fantastic way to bring their learning to life for their Rocks and Rumbles topic. Staff commented on how exemplary the children’s behaviour was throughout the day, both on the journey and in the museum itself. A big thank you to all the staff who supported the trip and made it such a memorable experience for our pupils.
Year 6 – Family Fun Afternoon Thursday’s Year 6 Family Fun Afternoon was another huge success! It was wonderful to see so many families joining together for games, food and laughter. Events like these really capture the special sense of community we have here at Stoke. A massive thank you to Mrs Stoker for her incredible effort in organising these afternoons – she never fails to make them enjoyable for everyone involved – and thank you to all who attended and supported.
Stoke Learning Behaviours This week, we have been focusing on what it means to be a Stoke Learner. Our learning behaviours – Challenge, Persevere, Focus, Collaborate, Celebrate and Reflect – help every child to grow as a confident, resilient and motivated learner. The children have got off to a brilliant start, showing these behaviours in their lessons and beginning their Stoke Learner sticker grids. We’re so proud of how determined and reflective they’ve been already!
Pupil Premium and Free School Meals A reminder that families may be eligible for Pupil Premium funding, which provides additional financial support to help enhance learning opportunities and wellbeing across school. Even if your child has packed lunches, registering still benefits the school and our children. If you haven’t already checked your eligibility, please visit: https://www.coventry.gov.uk/benefits-1/free-school-meals/2, or ask at the school office for a form.
Coming Up Next Week… · Monday 10th November – Year 4 begin swimming lessons (every day for two weeks, 3:30pm return) · Tuesday 11th November – Year 3 RSE Meeting, 3:15pm · Friday 14th November – Children in Need (children can come to school in own clothes with a small donation)
Attendance Matters – Everyday Counts We’re thrilled to share that our attendance this week is the best it’s been so far this academic year with all classes above 90%! Thank you for your continued effort in ensuring your child is in school, on time, every day – it really does make a difference.
