Dear Parents and Carers,

What another brilliant week!

Teacher Training Days

Last Friday and Monday, our staff took part in two valuable training days. Staff completed sessions on mental health awareness, speech and language development, and continued our important work around the wider curriculum and assessment. It was an excellent opportunity for reflection, collaboration, and planning to ensure we continue to provide the very best education and support for all our children.

Year 6 – Shakespeare Workshop

Year 6 had a fantastic time in their Shakespeare workshop this week, where they focused on key scenes from their upcoming performances. The excitement is building for their productions next month – it’s always a highlight of the year! The children worked brilliantly together, showing confidence, creativity, and enthusiasm throughout the session.

Year 5 – Family Fun Afternoon

What a wonderful turnout for our Year 5 Family Fun Afternoon on Thursday! There was plenty of laughter, and it was fantastic to see families enjoying games and spending time together. A huge thank you to Mrs. Stoker, who works so hard to make these events so special – she never fails to deliver an afternoon full of fun and community spirit.

Parking Reminder

A polite reminder to all parents and carers: please refrain from using either the top or bottom staff car park, even just for turning around. We understand that parking can be challenging, but the car parks are for staff use only, and additional vehicles on site can create safety risks for pupils and pedestrians. Thank you for your cooperation in helping to keep everyone safe.

Phones on the School Grounds

We would also like to kindly ask parents and family members to reduce their use of mobile phones while on the school site, particularly during pick-up times. These moments are precious opportunities to talk with your child about their day and celebrate their learning.

Pupil Premium and Free School Meals

A reminder that families may be eligible for Pupil Premium funding, which provides additional financial support to help enhance learning opportunities and wellbeing across school. Even if your child has packed lunches, registering still benefits the school and our children. If you haven’t already checked your eligibility, please visit: https://www.coventry.gov.uk/benefits-1/free-school-meals/2, or ask at the school office for a form.

Attendance Matters – Everyday Counts

Good attendance is key to making the most of all the learning and experiences on offer at Stoke. Please help us by ensuring your child is in school, on time, every day. Here are our attendance figures for this week:

Year Group Attendance

  • Reception - 95.3%
  • Year 1 - 89.1%
  • Year 2 - 95.6% - well done!
  • Year 3 - 94.2%
  • Year 4 - 94.2%
  • Year 5 - 93.6%
  • Year 6 - 93.1%

Whole school overall - 93.2%

Our school target is 96%. Let’s keep working together to raise these numbers – every day really does count. If you have any concerns or questions regarding your child’s attendance, please get in touch with us.

As always, we are here if you need any help or support – please don’t hesitate to get in touch. If you would like to speak to a member of our Family Team, this can be arranged through the school office. We’re always happy to help.
