20th June 2025

Dear Parents and Carers,

What a two weeks it’s been! The past fortnight has been full of excitement, discovery and creativity across our school. From inspiring author visits to family fun and adventures further afield, the children have had a brilliant time – and we’re thrilled to share just some of the highlights with you below.

Author Visit from Banji Alexander

We were delighted to welcome children’s author Banji Alexander into school! The children loved hearing about his journey as a writer and exploring his stories. Those who purchased books were thrilled to get them signed – a truly memorable experience for our budding bookworms!

Miss Burns and the Chained Library

A lucky group of children joined Miss. Burns on a fascinating trip to the Chained Library in Hereford. They explored rare and ancient books, gaining a unique insight into the world of historical literature.

Year 3 Family Fun Games A huge thank you to Mrs. Stoker for organising the Year 3 Family Fun Games! It was such a joy to see parents and children playing together, laughing, and making wonderful memories. We’re already looking forward to the Year 2 Family Games coming soon!

Year 2 Kingfisher Art Gallery

Well done to Year 2 Kingfishers, who proudly showcased their artistic talents in their very own Art Gallery event. Their creativity shone through in every piece, and it was lovely to see so many of you celebrating their achievements.

Year 2 Owl – Swimming Stars!

Today marked the end of swimming lessons for Year 2 Owl – and what fantastic progress they’ve made! The children have worked so hard in the water, growing in confidence and skill. We’re incredibly proud of each and every one of them.

Year 3 at Coombe Abbey

Year 3 had an unforgettable visit to Coombe Abbey! The children explored the grounds, enjoyed nature walks, and had some fantastic weather. A big thank you to the staff who supported the trip.

OPAL Lunchtimes

Our OPAL lunchtimes continue to grow and develop – and the children are absolutely loving it! With so much more to do outside, creativity and collaboration are shining through in play. Here are just a few things the children have said:

· “I love the water when the weather is hot!”

· “We like to sit on the climbing frame and spin around on it!”

· “We like to make skateboards and pull each other around on them!”

Important Reminder A quick reminder that school will be closed to children on Monday 23rd June for a Teacher Training Day. We look forward to welcoming everyone back on Tuesday 24th June.

Dates for Your Diary Please see below for upcoming events – there’s lots still to look forward to this term!

Thank you as always for your continued support.

Have a lovely weekend!

Miss. Parker
