4th July 2025 Dear Parents and Carers,
What a busy and brilliant fortnight it’s been!
From exciting visits and special events to preparing for the next steps in school life, our children have embraced every opportunity with enthusiasm and joy. Here are just some of the wonderful things we’ve been up to across school:
Year 6 Transition Day A huge well done to our Year 6 pupils who spent a day this week at their new secondary schools! They approached the experience with confidence and maturity – we are so proud of how they represented themselves and our school.
Reception Stay and Play This week, we’ve had the pleasure of welcoming our new Reception children for Stay and Play sessions. It’s been lovely to meet families and begin those important steps in helping the children feel confident and comfortable in their new surroundings.
Reception Trip to the Farm Our current Reception children had a fantastic trip to the farm on Wednesday! From feeding animals to exploring the outdoors, they had a wonderful time learning more about life on the farm. Thank you to all staff who made the trip a success.
Stoke World Vision! As part of our MFL wider curriculum, each year group learned a song in a different language and performed it in our very own ‘Stoke Vision’! The children sang with such pride and joy – it was a fantastic celebration of language and culture.
Year 5 Community Litter Picking A group of Year 5 pupils took part in a community litter picking project today – and they were amazing! Polite, hardworking and full of community spirit, they were a real credit to our school. Thank you to them all!
Sports Day Update We were really sorry to share that Sports Day would not be going ahead this year. With high temperatures earlier in the week and the field now not in a safe condition, we made the difficult decision to cancel. We understand this will have been disappointing and appreciate your understanding.
Parking and Safety Reminder We’ve increased our vigilance around parking near school following some recent unsafe parking. Our staff are working hard to ensure the area in front of school remains safe for all children and families. Please support them in this and be respectful – everything we do is to protect the wellbeing and safety of everyone in our school community. Thank you for your cooperation.
End of Year Reports and Attendance Letters End-of-year reports will be available on Friday 11th July through the MyChildAtSchool app. Around the same time, you will also receive an attendance letter via email. Please do take a moment to read it carefully. Regular attendance is so important for children’s learning, development, and wellbeing, and we thank you for your ongoing support in making everyday count.
Transition Week – Next Week! Next week is Transition Week, where all children will spend time in their new classrooms with their new class adults. On Monday, children should begin the day in their current class. This is always a lovely and successful week that helps ease the move into the next year group – we know the children will shine!
Summer Fayre – Next Week! We’re very excited for our Summer Fayre, taking place on Thursday 10th July next week! There will be stalls, games, food, and fun for the whole family – a lovely way to come together as a community before the end of term. More details will be shared early next week, but we hope to see as many of you there as possible!
House Attendance Winners Congratulations to Sky Blue House, who were this week’s attendance champions! Keep up the fantastic attendance, everyone – everyday counts.
Dates for Your Diary The remaining key dates can be found at the bottom of this letter!
Thank you, as always, for your continued support. Wishing you all a lovely weekend!
The Stoke Team π
Miss. Parker
