Dear Parents / Carers

SNOW FORECAST FOR OUR REGION

There is a forecast of snow which will move across and up the country through this week.

It is always my intention to keep school open wherever possible and put appropriate measures in place around ensuring that your children are kept as safe as possible.

  • If there is snow overnight and we are able to open;

  • Children should come to school in warm clothes, uniform is not specifically required (they should have gloves, scarfs & hats etc.)

  • All children will come to school via the main path to the school office and through the front doors.

In the event of bad weather, we shall endeavour to make any decisions on the closure of the school by 7.30am.

In the event of closure we will send a text to all parents for which we have a mobile number.  You can also look on our Facebook page or visit our website for the latest up to date information www.stoke.coventry.sch.uk.

Coventry City Council will post a list of school closures on their website or you can check their Twitter feed of closed schoolsSchool closure announcements – Coventry City Council.

Local Radio stations will also announce school closures in the region BBC Coventry & Warwickshire (94.8FM & 103.7 FM) and Free Radio Coventry & Warwickshire (97 & 102.9 FM).

In the event of heavy snow fall during the school day that causes us to be concerned about children’s welfare in relation to returning home, we will again text for immediate collection and update the school website.

It is always difficult to make the right decision due to the unpredictability of the weather, we will aim to do this as swiftly as we can. Please rest assured that any decisions taken will be based around ensuring that your children are kept as safe as possible.

Yours faithfully

Matthew Ascroft, Head Teacher
