10th June 2021

Dear Parents and Carers,

I hope you all had a good half term week last week.  We have all been pleased with the way our children have returned, ready to learn.  Across school new and exciting topics have started.    In our Early Years the Nursery children were met by dragon on Tuesday.  They took it in their stride and had an amazing day.  At the same time our Reception children have Gone On Safari.  Our Year 2 children are spending a week in our forest school as the y begin learning about Africa. Year 3 are continuing to learn about Volcanoes and Earthquakes.  Year 6 have started a Survival Topic which will help them as they prepare for their journey up to high school.

We all know this year has been a mixed one for our children.  We are all continuing to make sure every day counts as we help every child get the best from their lessons.  The staff team are working with detailed assessments to adapt and develop lessons that both help children over come their time out of school, but also push them on so they are ready for the challenge of a new year group in September.

We are developing plans to enable more normal summer of fun to take place.  By carefully manging risk assessments we are hoping to have a Sports Extravaganza and a Summer Fair.  As soon as we have more information we will share it with you.  All will be Covid safe and within guidelines.

This year we will also be having a week of transition for our children.  This will be in the week beginning 5th July.  Children will work for a full week with their new teachers and during this time they will plan their new topic for September together.  This is an important week as we try to ensure that all your children return to school in September confident and ready to go.

Reports will be sent out later this term in the week beginning the 12th July.  After they gave been sent there will be an opportunity to request to discuss your child with their teacher.  If in the meantime you have any queries do ask to speak to the teacher via whoever is on gate duty and the message will be passed on.

As always if you have any questions, please contact the school office.

Yours Sincerely
