Dear Parents and Carers,

Another great term at Stoke.  Our children have achieved so much.  We have explored castles, the Romans, North America, Polar Explorers and Wheels as some of our topics.  Please remember we share the topic plans with you through the website on the following Class Page link.  Class Pages | Stoke Primary School . 

Over the last few weeks, we have also been able to take children to a range of sports competitions.  This week a group of our Year 5 and 6 children took part in a Sports Hall Athletics competition.  We are very proud of them all and through the competition they gained enough points to win overall.

As we move into the summer, we have more learning adventures and opportunities planned across school.  We will also be sharing dates for summer events including sports day and the summer fair.  Look out for these after the holiday.

Staffing

We are all looking forward to Mrs Pater, our new Deputy Head Teacher, joining the team after the Easter holiday.  She will be out and about from the start of the summer term getting to know you all.

We will be welcoming Miss Warsame to the Stoke team, who will be teaching in Year 2 through the summer term.

We have said our goodbyes to Mrs Haines who has left the Stoke team to take up a new role at another school in Coventry.  We wish her well on her new adventures and are grateful for all that she has brought to Stoke over the last 5 years.

Attendance

This week Miss Fenlon has been meeting children across school to let them know their attendance percentage.  It is vital that our children are in school every day and here on time for the first lessons.  All our children know the target attendance is 96%.

After Easter the rules have changed and any absence due to Covid symptoms will count as a full absence.

Dates

We return after Easter on Monday 25^th April.  Gates open at 8:40am.

Please remember that school will be closed on Friday 29^th April and Monday 2^nd May.

We hope you all have a good Easter holiday and that all our children return energised and refreshed for the summer term.
