Dear Parents and Carers,
Year 5 Farmers Market Our Year 5 pupils recently hosted a fantastic Farmers’ Market, showcasing all their hard work and creativity. As part of the project, the children researched different foods, designed their own products, and then prepared and made them from scratch. It was wonderful to see such enthusiasm and pride in their work. We were delighted to welcome so many parents who came along to sample the food - thank you for your support and for the positive feedback you shared with the children, which meant a great deal to them.
Makaton Sign of the Week This week, we are pleased to introduce a new whole-school focus on Makaton. Mrs Burns, who works in the Aviary, has been teaching both staff and children the Makaton sign for “toilet” as part of our ongoing commitment to inclusive communication. This will now be a weekly update, with a new sign shared regularly. Makaton is an important tool that supports communication for a wide range of learners, including those with SEND and children who have English as an additional language. By learning and using these signs together, we are helping to create a more inclusive environment where everyone can communicate their needs more effectively. Ask your children to show you this week’s sign.
Welcomes and Goodbyes We would like to welcome Miss Kavangh, who joined us on Monday and will be working in Year 5 as an LSA alongside Mrs Maguire and Miss Khan. We are also excited to tell you that we have another LSA starting to support in Year 4 in the next week called Mrs Beard. We are also very sad to say goodbye to Mrs Orton, our Finance Assistant. All the best Mrs Orton, you will be missed.
