01.05.26 Dear Parents and Carers,
Year 4 Anglo Saxon Day!
This week, our Year 4 children stepped back in time for a fantastic immersive Anglo-Saxon day out on the field. The children arrived dressed in their best historical clothing and were fully engaged in a range of activities inspired by life during this period in history.
Throughout the day, they experienced what it might have been like to live in Anglo-Saxon times, learning through hands-on activities and practical experiences. One of the highlights of the day was making their own bread, which was then carefully baked over the fire during their Forest School session. This was a real favourite and gave the children a deeper understanding of how people lived and worked in the past.
It was wonderful to see the children so engaged and enthusiastic, bringing their classroom learning to life in such a meaningful way.
A Quacking Goodbye
This week, we say a fond farewell to our ducklings in Reception.
Over the past few weeks, the children have thoroughly enjoyed caring for them and watching them grow from eggs into fluffy ducklings. This has been a truly special experience, giving the children the opportunity to observe a real lifecycle first hand and develop a sense of care and responsibility.
The ducklings have quickly become a much-loved part of our school community and have brought a great deal of excitement to our Early Years environment. We will miss them greatly but are very pleased that they are now moving on to their new home on the farm, where they will continue to grow and thrive.
Wellbeing Walks
Our Friday wellbeing walks are now well underway and are already becoming a valued part of the school week.
The children are really enjoying the opportunity to spend time outdoors, walking and talking with both adults and their peers. These sessions provide an important chance for children to be active, enjoy the fresh air and reflect on their week in a calm and supportive environment.
Opportunities like this are a key part of how we support children’s wellbeing across the school, helping them to feel settled, connected and ready for learning.
Sun Safety Reminder ☀️
As the weather begins to get warmer, please ensure that your child brings a clearly labelled sunhat and a reusable water bottle to school every day. It is also important that suncream is applied before school each morning so that children are protected during outdoor learning and playtimes.
Thank you for your support in helping us to keep children safe and comfortable during the warmer months.
Makaton Sign of the Week
This week’s Makaton sign is more.
As part of our whole school focus on inclusive communication, please you to ask your child to show you this sign at home and to use it together in everyday conversations.
Year Group Attendance Congratulations Year 1!
Please encourage your children to wash their hands regularly with soap and water.
All parents will have received their child’s attendance report via email before the Easter holidays. Please take the time to read this carefully, as your child’s attendance is extremely important to their learning and overall progress. Government guidelines state that all children should have an attendance rate of at least 96%. If you have any questions or would like to discuss your child’s attendance, our Family Team will be very happy to support you.
