20-11-13 Afternoon Homeschooling Tasks

Hello Year 6!

Here are a list of activities for you to do in each afternoon of your isolation.

 

You can choose how to present this work – it could be handwritten on paper or emailed to your teacher through Purple Mash.

 

Friday 13th November

HISTORY:

Research which countries were involved in WWII and try to locate these on a map. Can you find out which countries switched allegiance (changed sides) and why?

Monday 16th November

SCIENCE:

Who was Charles Darwin? What do we mean by ‘Evolution’

Tuesday 17th November

ART:

Frank Lloyd Wright designed stained glass windows. Research some of his designs. Choose an example and draw your own version of this.

Wednesday 18th November

HISTORY:

Research the role that women played during the war. Who were the Land Army Girls? What did they do? Design a poster showing what the Land Army did (there are lots of examples online).

Thursday 19th November

SCIENCE:

‘Adaptation’ happens within nature. What does this mean? Explain how a polar bear, camel and chameleon adapt to their environments.

Friday 20th November

ART:

Keith Haring Is a famous graffiti artist. What is a graffiti artist? Research his work. What do you notice about it? Design your own graffiti wall on paper, in the style of Haring.

Monday 23rd November

HISTORY:

What does rationing mean? Why did rationing happen? Design a ration book and decide which items would be written inside it.

Tuesday 24th November

MUSIC:

Choose an artist/musical act whose music you enjoy. Research information about them. Complete a fact file about them
