26th September 2020

Dear Parents,

Next week we are looking forward to welcoming back our children into Upper Key Stage 2 having made a number of changes to ensure we are bringing them back into the safest possible situation. We are aware that there may be some anxieties both from the children and yourselves about the return and hope that we can alleviate some of those fears for you.

In order to support social distancing we will be asking Year 5 and 6 children to enter school through the small staff car park at the top of Briton Road. Parents are not allowed on school site at this time so will be asked to leave children at the gate where myself or another senior member of staff will be to take any urgent messages or concerns. At the end of the day the children will be escorted back to this gate by staff. In order to support with this you will be sent a text message at the start of next week asking whether your child is allowed to walk home or will be collected. Please reply to this text promptly.

In order to comply with current guidelines we ask that:

  • no bags are bought into school unless absolutely necessary and then only bags able to fit into the 30cm x 30cm cloakroom cubes with their coat.
  • no pencil cases are brought into school – we will provide everything needed.
  • lunchboxes and water bottles are named clearly on the outside to prevent children handling other children’s belongings. Cups cannot be provided so please ensure your child has a water bottle in school.
  • PE kits remain at home. You will be told what day your child has PE and they will be expected to come into school in their full PE kit for this day. They will not be changing in school.
  • parents support their child in returning to school by helping them with any tasks sent home and talking to them about their learning.

As a school we will continue to work with government guidance as we look forward to welcoming your child back to school. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to get in touch via the school office email address: office@stoke.coventry.sch.uk .

Kind Regards
