9th June 2020
Dear Parents and Children of Year 6,
I apologise that we were not able to open as planned today, unfortunately the risk assessment had not been returned from the City Council in time meaning we were unable to open as we hoped. We did message parents on Thursday about this but it seems that some of you did not see this message. As all our communication is done by school comms at the minute please ensure your details are up to date and email the office with any changes.
We have now had the risk assessment returned and school will be open for your child on Thursday 11th June. We ask that children come to school between 8:45 and 8:55am where year 6 will need to enter by the main school gate (in front of the office) and go through to Year 6 via the side gate by the dining hall. Parents will not be admitted onto school site but there will be a member of staff at the entrance if you have any issues. If your child in entitled to a free school meal this will be provided, otherwise children may bring their packed lunch plus a named water bottle and coat. Nothing else can be brought to school. Children will need to wear clean clothes each day so we are asking children to wear a t-shirt and tracksuit bottoms, leggings or shorts with suitable footwear for being active outdoors. At 3:15pm the children will be brought back to the school gate to be collected. If you wish them to be allowed to walk home you must inform me before Thursday using the transition email address below.
It is important that you do not send your child into school if they are unwell in any way. Please call the school office and let them know if this is the case. If anyone in your house has symptoms of COVID-19 or has tested positive for the virus your child must not return to school for 14 days. This is to ensure we keep the school community as safe as possible throughout this time.
If you have any questions please can you email me at firstname.lastname@example.org and I will do my best to answer them.
