Nature of Support 2011/12

1 Intervention to raise standards and achievement

 

  • Continue to employ additional teacher 0.5 employed to support streaming and extra group in Maths KS2

  • Employ further HLTA to cover PPA to release teacher to support targeted interventions in writing

  • Targeted small intervention groups in Maths, English throughout school as identified through pupil progress meetings

  • Continue AM parent / child consultations and reports each term

 

 

2 Enrichment to raise aspirations

  • Employ additional full time Learning Mentor to focus on attendance and overcoming barriers to learning

  • Subsidised trips for those students in families with very low income (Plas Dol Y Moch and educational visits)

  • Introduce subsidised uniform and fees to cover after school clubs for identified children

  • Continue cross phase work with local secondary school – Maths and English “Bright Sparks”

  • Continue involvement in partnership schools sporting activities

  • Continue purchase of extra speech therapy provision to ensure engagement and attendance at appointments
